Paper Machine Asset Manager

The Paper Machine Asset Manager is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of a paper machine and support equipment in the assigned area. Responsible for the overall Machine operations using reliability concepts and critical thinking skills to effectively troubleshoot and solve complex operating issues. The incumbent is expected to provide leadership and influence to impact safety, cost, quality and human resource results.


         ACCOUNTABILITIES

  •  Maximize production efficiencies while maintaining safety, housekeeping, and environmental standards.

  •  Identify opportunities implement changes to drive improvement in assigned these areas. This person must embrace change and be able to move this process forward throughout the organization. 

  •  Responsible for setting goals and delivering results that support key department and company objectives including managing overtime and staffing levels.

  •  Develop and specify programs and activities to improve operational performance and lower equipment maintenance and operating cost. Approve and prioritize all maintenance work activity and equipment modifications in the area.

  •  Support the processes of investigating, recommending, and implementing new technologies and process upgrades in Paper Machine area.

  •  Collaborates and knowledge share with other departments across mill and other levels within the organization to ensure the success of operational goals.

  •  Demonstrates a sense of urgency and accountability in prioritizing and processing work. Supporting routine and annual outages. Planning, assigning and providing follow-up of work.


    SUPERVISORY/ LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Paper Asset Manager provides leadership for all hourly employees in a union environment.

            EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Paper Science or other technical disciplines

  •  Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

  •  5 or more years of experience working within a pulp & paper manufacturing operation required.

  •  5+ years of progressive responsibility in Pulp & Paper or Manufacturing preferred

  •  Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook

    5 or more years of supervisory experience with responsibility for direct reports within a production or manufacturing environment.
